How we do it?
Procurement: We have a dedicated team for quality inspection that tests the quality at the point of procurement in all major rice growing states of India, inclusive of Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Andra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka.
Processing: If needed, cargo is brought to our plants in Nagpur or Mundra, and processed to meet the buyer’s quality and food safety requirements. All incoming and outgoing cargo is analyzed in the quality laboratory.
Container Stuffing: Containers are stuffed at the plants or at the port. Our quality personnel are again present to ensure that cargo is stuffed and containers are fumigated and sealed as per the norms.
In the recent decade, India's agriculture and grain processing industries have achieved enormous strides. However, there are still a number of things to watch out for, such as infestations, bad odours, excessive moisture, damaged/discolored kernels, higher broken percentage, and so on.

We have established rigorous tests and processes to assist us comply with the highest quality and food safety requirements, based on our extensive expertise handling rice. For instance, we often double fumigate the cargo – once in our plant and again in the containers – to ensure there is no chance of infestation. We also provide all the necessary inspection certifications at the shipment. We also perform drop test on our bags from optimal height to check for bag strength, along with many other such measures to ensure the highest quality standards.
Varieties
Most rice varieties exported from India can be broadly categorized into Sona Masoori, Basmati and Non Basmati groups. Furthermore, once paddy is harvested, there are three main paths:
1. Raw: paddy is milled directly
2. Parboiled rice: paddy is boiled and then milled
3. Steamed rice: paddy is steamed and then milled
While raw and parboiled rice were dominant earlier, steamed rice has also become popular over the last few years, especially for the Sona Masoori segment.
